Using nslookup command

By using nslookup command it is possible to query specific DNS servers on specific DNS record types.

Example: Query ns1.r01.ru. server on A record of r01.ru domain

Command:

nslookup -q=a R01.RU ns1.r01.ru

Command output:

Server: ns1.r01.ru
Address: 195.209.63.181#53
Name: R01.RU
Address: 195.24.65.17

This command can be executed from the command line. In Windows XP you can get to the command line by clicking on: Start → Run. Then type cmd and click on Enter. Windows command line will open.
