Adding a domain name to hosting service

If you indicated the website name at purchasing the hosting service, the domain name, as a rule, will be automatically added to the hosting server (in this case you may skip this section of the document and proceed to the next one).

If due to some reason this has not been done (e.g. at signing the hosting agreement you did not indicate which domain name you were going to put to the hosting service or you are going to add another domain name), there are two ways to add a domain name to hosting service:

• In R01 account manager via "Hosting" section   by clicking on "Add a domain name to hosting service" in "Actions" column.
• In Plesk control panel by clicking on "New domain name" link.

  Upon entering Plesk control panel you will be brought to the Home page. To create a domain name click on New domain name button. Creating new domain name window will open; enter the domain name there and click on OK. It is not recommended to change default values of all other parameters.

  Now the hosting type shall be selected. Physical hosting shall be indicated.

  On Physical hosting settings page it shall be necessary to indicate the user name and FTP access password. Please note that if the "password" field is left blank, access via FTP will be impossible.

Within 6 hours after adding the domain name to hosting service you will get an e-mail with the subject line: "R01.RU: domain name [your_domain] has been added to hosting service".

If your domain name is available in R01 database under the same agreement as the hosting, an attempt will be made to perform DNS linking of the domain name to R01 hosting service in automatic mode. If the automatic mode was completed successfully, your domain name will point to R01 hosting in about 6-8 hours (the time needed for information distribution in the global DNS system). If your domain name is not available in R01 database or automatic linking of the domain name has not been completed due to any reason, it shall be necessary to take actions described in DNS linking of the domain name to R01 hosting service.

For the purpose of website configuration at R01 hosting you can use "technical domain" (which becomes available in 5 minutes after adding the main domain name): your_domain.r01-service.ru
