How do I create an e-mail account (mailbox)?

To manage e-mails of your domain (i.e. addresses of name@your_domain type):

  1. go to Plesk control panel
  2. select E-mail item in the domain control menu which becomes available at clicking on the domain name in Domains list on your Home page.
  3. to create a new e-mail name click on Add e-mail name button. After the e-mail name has been created it appears in E-mail names list.

In the e-mail name properties window which opens at clicking on the e-mail name in the list of names you can set up the following services:

  • Mailbox: the account setting for receiving and sending e-mails. Here you can configure the mailbox size and disable the mailbox by unchecking Mailbox checkbox. Please note that the mailbox size shall not exceed the hard drive space allocated for the entire domain.
  • Forwarding: forwarding of the incoming messages to another e-mail address (in this case, a copy of the e-mail message will remain with the forwarder).
  • Mail group: using the e-mail name as the mail group (messages are being forwarded to several addressees simultaneously — a copy of the e-mail message will also remain with the forwarder).
  • E-mail alias: it is possible to use several aliases for one e-mail name (in this case, only new e-mail name (and not the entire mailbox) is created; consequently, e-mails are stored in the main mailbox only).
  • Answering machine: setting the automatic answer feature for incoming messages.

Settings button in the e-mail name properties window enables the user to change the e-mail name and password for it, as well as to open/block the mail user's access to the control panel.

Address of the web interface for viewing and sending e-mails in your domain is: webmail.your_domain
