Changing Old Hosting Plans (PLESK Panel) to New Plans (R01 Panel)

You may use a simplified process for transferring data from old hosting plans to new line of plans: Mini, Maxi, Ultra. These new plans provide an opportunity for automatic transfer of content from your sites, databases and mail boxes.

You will have 14 days to check the work of the new hosting using a service domain name. Your old hosting will work as well during that time.

To switch to the new plan, within two weeks you will have to confirm your consent for transfer. After that, provision of the old service will be stopped, while unused money paid for it will be used for renewal of the new service.

Transferring to new hosting plans has several stages:

1. Initiating transfer process

   You can initiate the transfer process in the R01 Account Manager:

   • Go to the section "Hosting";
   • In the column "Login", click on hosting with old plan;
   • In the upper part of page, in "Tools", click "Transfer hosting to new plan" and follow instructions.

   In the lower part of page, you can see new plans and information on current plan and hosting resources in use.

   Step 1:
   Choose one of the plans; provided that such plan’s resources will be enough to store all content from the old hosting. To choose, click "Start transfer". 
   Your transfer may require freeing disk space or deleting users, databases, domains. To update information, click on data updating icon in the "Disk use" column of the "Hosting" section.

   Step 2:
   Enter new hosting login. It will be used to create service names for access to service.

   Step 3:
   Confirm transfer by clicking the "Transfer hosting" button

   Step 4:
   You may return to the "Hosting" or "Task Queue" page and check if the new service appeared on the "Hosting" page; data will be transferred to this service.

   This process may take several hours. When it is completed, you will be notified via contact email. An active button "Confirm hosting transfer to new plan" will appear in the "Hosting" section — "Login", near the new service.

   Do not click it right away! Click it only after checking if site is working properly.
   
   
2. Site check

   After transferring files, you will have to change site settings and check if they work with the new hosting.

   2.1. Changing site settings

   You need to change file system paths and parameters of database connection in configuration files of sites.

   Instead of old root directory:
   /srv/www/vhosts/site_name/httpdocs
   you need to use
   /home/hosting_id /site_name/docs

   You can edit configuration files by setting up hosting connection through FTP.

   New hosting’s database server address looks like this: login.mysql; databases and usernames also change after transfer. After data is copied from the old hosting, you will receive a message with a subject "Report on Hosting Transfer to New Platform" that will contain data for database connection. This message is available in the section "Messages" – "System Messages" in the new hosting management panel.

   To enter hosting management panel, you need to log into R01 Account Manager using  your agreement number and password.

   Then go to the section "Hosting" and follow the link partner.r01.ru:443/hcp/ in the column "Server", next to the hosting service.

   If you see a message saying that the service was not found, you need to return to https://partner.r01.ru and update information on the new service.

   2.2. Checking site work on the service domain login.r01host.ru:

   • delete the service site login.r01host.ru in the section "Web Server" – "Sites" of the hosting management platform;
   • click on the name of the site that you want to check and go to the section "Aliases";
   • add alias login.r01host.ru;
   • check site by opening http://login.r01host.ru.

   In the case of several sites, you need to repeat these actions for each of them.

   2.3. Setting up web server and PHP module in accordance with site requirements

   In some cases you will need to additionally set up web server and PHP module.

   2.4. Check if mail boxes work properly

   If there are mail boxes on the old hosting, they will be transferred to the new hosting service.

   You may check if they work properly using webmail interface mail.r01.ru or by setting up mail client in accordance with the recommendation at this page: Mail clients configuration.

3. Confirmation of switching to new plan

   After you check the work of the new hosting service, you will need to confirm hosting transfer:

   • click on the name of the new hosting service in the column "Login" in the section "Hosting" of the R01 Account Manager partner.r01.ru;
   • click on the button "Confirm hosting transfer to new plan" in the upper part of page in "Tools".

As a result, domains linked with old hosting will be delegated to these DNS servers:
    ns01.r01.ru
    ns02.r01.ru
    ns03.r01.ru

If you personally maintain domain’s zone, you need to update records on DNS servers in accordance with the recommendations in the section "Help" — "Main Settings" of the hosting management panel.

After information is updated in the DNS within a few hours, sites and mail will work with the new hosting. Old service will be turned off within three days. Unused money paid for it will be returned and may be used for renewal of the new service. Switching to the new hosting plan will now be completed.
